  11. If you're like me, you work on a few to a dozen different
  12. computers and go nuts over trying to keep the newest versions 
  13. of all your files with you so you can continue working on then 
  14. somewhere else.
  15. I got tired of manually figuring out where I have the newest 
  16. version, so I wrote this little program.  
  17. The program allows you to save the directories you need to 
  18. compare on both the floppy disk and the hard drive on every 
  19. machine you work on so you won't need to punch it in every time
  20. you want to update.  
  21. There are four  options: 
  22.     Confirmation: for every action taken, you'll be asked
  23.     Replace newer files: two files with the same filename 
  24.         are compared and the newer one is copied over 
  25.         the older one
  26.     Copy new file from drive 1 to drive 2: Files that only
  27.         exist in either one directory are copied into
  28.         the other one.
  29.     Copy new file from drive 2 to drive 1: the other way ..

  31. Confirmation and Replacement are by default on, copying off.
  32. However, when you save your current settings, the defaults are also
  33. saved and thus right there when you load the setting next time ..

  35. Unfortunately, in this demo version you won't
  36. be able to save this list for the next use ... thus it won't be there
  37. for loading next time you use it.

  39. There is a log of every action the program takes (menu item 'log'),
  40. this log can be printed and is also available from the clipboard.

  42. Only the full program, available for $15 (includes S&H) will do that!
  43. You'll get the newest version, plus there won't be any nagging windows 
  44. any more. I'll send you upgrades should there be major bugs (Let me 
  45. know if you find one).

  57. Updater is written in VisualBasic 3.0, thus you'll need the file VBRUN300.DLL
  58. in you WINDOWS or WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. It's not included to save download
  59. time in case you already have it.  If not, it should be in the same place this
  60. program came from.

  62. Copy the file 'UPDATER.INI' into your 'c:\WINDOWS' directory.

  64. You may distribute this demo to anyone as long as you include all the files it
  65. came with.
